Lady
The first adoption was to a woman that lives in Sequim and from the pictures I saw, this dog found a darn good home with a big yard, gorgeous water views, neighbor dogs to play with and a mom to give her all the attention she needs. This dog was the first one that the woman met and, even though she met a few other dogs, she really didn’t need to meet any others because she knew that the sweet lassie from Ireland, Lady, was meant to be hers immediately!!!
Plato
This person was a man who has a 6 year old girl named Rosie (fka Spring). He was under the impression that Rosie needed a new buddy (although, Rosie was still trying to decide if she wants to share — she is very attached to her dad). Nevertheless, we introduced her to a few of our greyt boys and both Rosie and her dad took a liking to our most handsome dark brindle boy, Plato!!!
Phil
In the past 2 years, we have only been able to send one dog to Canada and that was just recently. Thankfully, things have started to ease at the border and we sent the first of what we hope will be many dogs to Canada!!! This couple has been watching our website for two years and watching dogs come and go and waiting for their turn to adopt. It finally came and they had a wonderful time getting to know the dogs in hopes that one might be a potential family member. It’s not unusual for one family member to be drawn to one dog while the other person connects with another dog and that is what happened with this couple. Luckily, they were able to reach a decision amicably and they were off to Canada with their new family member, Phil (a handsome black lad from Ireland).
Maggie
This lady recently lost her most recent Greyhound and has been lonely and missing that wonderful Greyhound energy in her home. She came looking for a calm female. At this time, we don’t have any dogs in our kennel that you would call calm but we did come up with a few girls that came kinda close to meeting that description. After spending time with each of them, she decided that our little brindle girl from the American Lurcher Project, Maggie, was going to be her new furry friend!
Fiona
This appointment was with a couple who have a Chihuahua and a Pug. They actually came in wanting one of our other dogs but we were a nervous about how that dog reacted to the small dogs. While they were there, they saw our newest pup (who by the way is absolutely adorable!!!) and fell in love almost immediately — the only thing we had to do was make sure that this dog got along with the little ones. We did introduce all the dogs and were very pleased with how everyone got along. Did I mention that this couple was so lucky that they saw this dog first — she has claimed the hearts of almost everyone that has met her and we knew she would not be with us for long? So, as soon as we knew all the pups got along, the couple decided that Miss Fiona, our latest arrival from South Korea, had to be a member of their family!!
Namsha
This couple moved here last summer from Israel with their Greyhound mix. They recently lost that dog and were looking for an American version of their dog. Honestly, we have never shown a wider variety of dogs before — purebreds, Greyhound mixes, Saluki mixes and true mixes. After that parade of dogs, these people definitely had to work hard to make a decision. Interestingly, instead of an American dog, they finally settled on a cute black & white Saluki mix from the UAE, Namsha!!
Hawk
This person who came to the kennel was a woman from Canada who was looking for her eighth Greyhound. Her current Grey, 12 year old Lexi from Macau, has been lost without the brother she lost about a month ago and her mom was thinking that they both needed a new friend. Since her mother told us that Lexi was very particular about the dogs with whom she keeps company, we weren’t quite sure what dog was going to work for her. Luckily, Miss Lexi seemed to think that our handsome black boy from Ireland, Hawk, was a pretty special guy and he would do just fine as her new brother.
