While our costs have gone up, our hearts remain the same as we are drawn to take in dogs from different areas. Last year we brought in 74 dogs, and found forever homes for 86. It costs about $40 a month to feed a dog. Our transport, transitional care and vetting costs averaged $2,195 per dog, and our total veterinary care expense was over $55,290.

We support dogs like 6-year-old REY, who came to us from a shelter in South Korea. She is friendly, outgoing and loves all humans. And ORLA, a lovely Irish Greyhound, who would thrive as an only pet in a home with a secured fenced yard in which she could amuse herself with her impressive zoomie skills and her funny, playful nature. And this year's Walkathon Mascot, PANDORA, who was rescued by our friends at Team Inch Sighthound Rescue from a South Korean dog shelter. Pandora is very bright, loves people and is eager to learn. As much as Pandora adores people, she cannot live with cats or other small animals. Pandora needs a forever home with an experienced adult home with a fenced yard, in a quiet area. Pandora’s adoption includes four one-hour private training sessions.

Last year, our volunteers and supporters raised over $55,000 for GPI, helping fund costs to transport dogs to GPI and provide veterinary care. This year’s event will be held on August 16th. We hope you will consider supporting our event. We have opportunities where we could use your support:

• Roo Fest Sponsorship - $500: All the benefits of the Skinny Dog Club, a total of 4 social media mentions, and a shout out at the Walkathon Event.

• Skinny Dog Club - $250: All the benefits of a Needle Nose Fan plus your logo on our event T-shirt and 2 social media mentions.

• Needle Nose Fan - $150: Your logo on our event website with a description of your company, a link to your website, and a T-shirt.

• Ace Supporter - In-kind donations of goods or services: Your company name and your in-kind donation listed on our event website.

• Donation in any amount: Every dollar counts, and goes directly to the dogs.

Our Walkathon is a great opportunity to promote your business to a highly desirable target audience while supporting a worthwhile cause.
