Lake: March Dog of the Month

March 1, 2025

Please contact Greyhound Pets, Inc. Woodinville ([email protected]) for more information about Lake.

Lake

Tag No: 6978
Registered Name: None
Breed: Greyhound Mix
Date of Birth:  Approximately October 2021
Color: Black
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, Unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Weight:  62 pounds
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Lake is sweet and adorable!!  She can be a little timid at first, but once comfortable, she is playful and fun!  Lake will need a home without cats and she plays a little rough to be ok with small dogs.  Lake will need a home with a fenced yard.  She is a cute, darling "fuzzy" girl.  Lake was a past Dog of the Month: https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/lake-august-dog-of-the-month/

Kim: October Dog of the Month

October 1, 2024

kimtitlehalloween
Please contact Greyhound Pets, Inc. Woodinville ([email protected]) for more information about Kim.

Kim

Tag No: 7011
Registered Name: None
Breed: Saluki Mix
Date of Birth:  December 2021
Color: Tan/Black
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds
Kid Friendly: See Comments
Weight:  40 pounds
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Kim is fun, friendly and very sweet.  She loves to play ball!  She is so eager to please.  Kim loves car rides and is a dream in a car - just lies down and curls up.  Kim had been very sensitive to noises and new things, but (thanks to the folks in California) has been through a 6 week board and train program and knows a lot of commands and has adapted well to new things and sounds.  While she loves to run and play, she also loves to snuggle and hang with you.  We are working on her leash manners and greeting of strangers, and they are improving.  We think she would do fine as an only dog and may even do ok in an apartment as long as she is given some run time in a secure area.  If she gets really excited she can get a little nippy, so she may not do well with young children.  But it is easy to distract her and remind her of her manners.  She came to us from Mexico, via California.

Sponsored by Susan and Chip Terhune

If you can adopt just now but you'd like to help Kim by sponsoring her, you can get more info here: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/

Kash: August Dog of the Month

July 31, 2024

Please contact Greyhound Pets, Inc. Woodinville ([email protected]) for more information about Kash.

Kash
Tag No: 7008
Registered Name: None
Breed: Pharoah Hound Mix
Date of Birth: Approx Jan 10, 2022
Color: Red Fawn
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with dogs his size, Unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Weight: 30 pounds
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments: Kash is a fun, playful, friendly and outgoing guy! He will just make you smile! He is active and higher energy, but also likes some cuddle time and affection. Kash is young and hasn't had much guidance in life, so he is still very much a puppy in training. Kash will need an active home, with a fenced yard, who can give him the exercise and guidance he needs. Kash will need a home without cats. Kash came to us from Hawaii.

Sponsored by Susan Crowe

Sponsored by Barbara Abelhauser

Kash would love to have a sponsor until he finds his forever home. More info here: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/

Plato: September Dog of the Month

September 1, 2023

Please contact Moira Corrigan ([email protected]) for more information about Plato.
Plato
Tag No: 6796
Registered Name: None
Breed: Greyhound
Date of Birth:  August 2019
Color: Dark Brindle
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: See Comments
Kid Friendly: No
Weight:  65
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Plato is a friendly, playful guy.  He loves to play ball and loves car rides.  And he loves those neck scritches.  He can be unsure of anything new, so needs a calm, confident adopter.  He may need to be an only dog in his home as he injured the female greyhound in his previous home.  Plato is doing well with our trainers and has been very well behaved with our volunteers.  We do not recommend him with children.  Plato would do best in a home with a fenced yard, without cats or other dogs. If you would like to help support Plato while he waits for his forever home, you might want to consider sponsoring him.  More info here:  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/

Dibber, Bing, Rio, Siri

April 24, 2023

Dibber

Dibber with his new dad and mom, Joshua & Isha.

Our next adopters are a couple engaged to be married in a few months looking for their first dog together. We have a few dogs that we thought would fit their lifestyle, and all of them happened to be black boys from Ireland. It can be hard to tell them apart just looking at them, but they definitely showed off their unique personalities. The gentle soul that won them over though was one of our recent arrivals: Dibber! - Mike Forrest

Bing

Bing nka Darwin with new mom & dad, Lily & Will.

Our next adopters came a long way to meet our dogs, all the way from Calgary! Both grew up with dogs, but this is their first greyhound and first dog as a couple. They got to meet pups from all over, including the US, South Korea, Ireland, and Australia. They were able to narrow down their choices and were eventually won over by a big shy boy who recently arrived from Ireland. So our world traveler Bing (now Darwin) is now en route to his new home in Canada! - Mike Forrest

Rio

Rio with new mom & dad, Isabella & Mike.

One of our long-time turnout volunteers recently moved into a new home with a nice fenced yard and decided the time was finally right to adopt. When she and her partner came in, they already had a dog picked out, and all that was left was the difficult question of what color to pick for his new collar. Eventually they solved that problem, and so our Australian boy Rio is off to his new home sporting a nice shade of red! - Mike Forrest

Siri

Siri, nka Stella with new family, Skye & Scott.

Here’s another case where our adopters met their dog while doing kennel turnout volunteering, and in fact first found out about GPI because they are local and saw one of our Brightwater group walks. They previously had huskies, and this is their first greyhound. Doing turnout gave them the opportunity to meet most of our dogs, but I think they were won over pretty quickly to our blue girl from Ireland: Siri, now known as Stella. - Mike Forrest
