Dearly missed by Eleanor, Shmuel and his feline companions, Aggie and Smith

Thomas came home with me in July of 2009 and I only wish he could have stayed longer. He was a gentle boy who only showed his ferocious side to the squirrels. For the last few years of his life he came with me to the group home where I work and was a great incentive for residents to make a healthy choice and go for a daily walk. He enjoyed all the walks, but was determined to keep part time hours and was always ready to end his working day by noon (the afternoon was dedicated to napping on his bed). In March he was attacked by another dog while on walk near our home. He required surgery for the wounds and things took a turn for the worst. He spent a week in intensive care and impressed his care team with his recovery. Sadly, he ultimately wasn’t able to make a full recovery and passed away in April. Thomas acquired many fans and people were eager to help however they could when they heard of his difficulties. A Go Fund Me page was set up to assist with his care. It turned out that the funds weren’t required,
so we have donated the monies raised back to Greyhound Pets, Inc. and sponsored a run in his memory. He is dearly missed by Eleanor, Shmuel and his feline companions Aggie and Smith.
