Dearly missed by Ted and Katy and all who knew them

Mary chose us in the Fall of 2005. She black with a white face, feet, and tail tip. Mary was stoic and not very cuddly, but she was a social dog. She loved people. She was so excited when there was a knock on the door. She loved other dogs. She loved the dog park and especially loved small dogs. While she was a small grey, she didn’t seem to understand she was a large dog. Two of her smallish canine friends were pekinese/pomeranian mixes. Mary tried to follow them through a blackberry trail they had in their backyard, cut her ear and had to wear a cone of shame her first Christmas with us.

She was ecstatic along with us when Aaron joined our family in the Summer of 2006. The tall, brindle, male was affectionate to people, but didn’t seem all that interested in other dogs. He bonded quickly and strongly to Mary. When we let them out in the back yard, he was the ringleader in running circles, chasing squirrels, and digging for earthworms and bugs. He challenged a raccoon once and had to get 4 stitches.

In the Spring of 2010 Aaron got a tumor in his leg that rendered it useless. We took him to the vet for that final trip on this side. The vet gave Aaron his shot. As the vet was about to announce Aaron was gone, Mary gave the doctor a kiss.

About 15 months later Mary started losing weight. At first she still had her appetite, but then that went too. She left us and joined Aaron in August of 2011.

Aaron-Enjoy your healthy legs as you run on the other side.

Mary-Enjoy your re-found appetite for running, chasing, and digging.

It is much easier now to keep the grass in the back yard healthy and mowed. We would gladly trade the decently manicured lawn to have Aaron and Mary back running, chasing, barking, rooing, and digging.
