Dog of the Month

Billy: May Dog of the Month

April 30, 2023

Please contact Moira Corrigan ([email protected]) for more information about Billy.

Billy
Tag No: 6963
Registered Name: None
Breed: Greyhound Mix
Date of Birth:  Approx July 2019
Color: Fawn
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, Unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Weight: 75 pounds
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Billy is a happy, fun, friendly boy.  He is a playful boy and eager to please.  He is calm and affectionate.  He loves hanging out in the sun for some sunbathing.  He walks well on leash and loves his walks with our volunteers.  He loves to play fetch.  Billy will need a home without cats.  He would do best in a home with a fenced yard rather than an apartment/condo/townhome.  Billy came to us from South Korea.

Jonathan: April Dog of the Month

April 1, 2023

Please contact Moira Corrigan ([email protected]) for more information about Jonathan.

Jonathan
Tag No: 6917
Registered Name: None
Breed: Greyhound Lurcher
Date of Birth: April 12, 2018
Color: Red Fawn
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: See Comments
Kid Friendly: No young children
Location: Foster Home
Comments: Jonathan is in a foster home and doing fabulously!!! His foster mom reports that he is very intelligent, and eager to learn. He is very treat motivated, so that helps tremendously. He likes to go for walks and walks well on leash. He likes food toys or a licky mat with pieces of hot dogs or peanut butter. He likes stuffed animals, although he does like to remove the stuffing and disassemble them 🙂 His favorite toy outside is a Jolly Ball. He also like to chase and retrieve tennis balls. Activity wise his foster mom calls him a "medium". Jonathan is house broken, can do stairs, and although he whines for a little bit when his foster mom leaves, he soon settles down. He is ok in a crate, but it is not his favorite thing. He can be a little nippy and jumpy when he gets overly stimulated, so we don't recommend him with younger children. He is fine encountering other dogs when he is out and about as long as he and the other dog are leashed and he feels secure. He does get unsettled when other dogs approach him if he/they are unleashed. Jonathan is delightful, fun and eager to please. He is in a townhouse with a small fenced area at the moment and does well as long as he gets his walks and play time. Jonathan would do best in a home without cats and as an only dog. Won't you be his forever home?

Vada: March Dog of the Month

March 1, 2023

Please contact Moira Corrigan ([email protected]) for more information about Vada.

Vada
Tag No: 6919
Registered Name: Bravocado
Breed: Greyhound
Date of Birth:  Jan 6, 2020
Color: Fawn
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, No small dogs
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Vada loves attention and affection.  She is an active, friendly, outgoing girl.  Vada will need a home without cats and is not suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome.  Vada is working with our volunteers on her leash manners and exposure to the outside world and she is improving.  She will need a home without small dogs.  Vada is an active girl and loves to run and play.  She is delightful and fun, but needs someone who can continue her training and keep her occupied.  Vada was briefly in a home, but proved to be too dominant for the other greyhound in the home.

Rivers: February Dog of the Month

January 31, 2023

Please contact Moira Corrigan ([email protected]) for more information about this Rivers.

Rivers
Tag No: 6428
Registered Name: None
Breed: Greyhound Lurcher
Date of Birth:  Approx April 2014
Color: White/Black
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, No small dogs
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Rivers was returned to us when his owner fell ill and could no longer care for him.  This boy is delightful!  He is sweet, gentle, playful and fun!  Rivers loves the stuffed toys and our toy box at the kennel is a favorite of his!!  But beware, no squeeker is safe in those toys 🙂  He loves his walks and walks well on leash.  Rivers does have some kidney issues but it is well managed currently through diet and daily meds.  Rivers lived as an only dog in a home with a fenced yard, so is happy as an only dog.  We would love to find another home with a fenced yard for him.  This boy will just melt your heart - he is so affectionate and fun.

Please contact Moira Corrigan ([email protected]) for more information about BOLT.

Bolt
Tag No: 6940
Registered Name: None
Breed: Greyhound/Shepherd
Date of Birth:  October 15, 2020
Color: Brown
Cat Trainable: Unknown
Dog Friendly: See Comments
Kid Friendly: Unlikely
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments:  Sophie and Bolt are siblings and came to us after being rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm.  Sophie and Bolt are so fun together and just love to run and play.  Sophie is super shy, while Bolt is more outgoing after his initial shyness.  With time and patience she is now letting a few people handle her and she loves belly rubs.  We would love to place Sophie and Bolt together in a home.  Neither of them are suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome.  Bolt needs a securely fenced yard with room to run and play and burn off his energy.  While not as shy as Sophie, Bolt needs a home that will have the patience to work with him and guide him.  That home will be rewarded 10 fold for their patience and guidance.  A DNA test on Sophie and Bolt's sister showed her as 57% greyhound, 31% german shepherd, and then various mixes of Laika.
