Meet Biscuit: December Dog of the Month – Adopted!

November 30, 2018

biscuittitle

Tag No: 6256
Registered Name: None
Breed: Lurcher - Greyhound/Great Dane
Date of Birth: Approximately 2013
Color: Brindle
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: See comments
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments: What is there not to love about Biscuit?!?! Biscuit is a laid back, chill guy. He loves his walks with our volunteers and is great on leash. He loves walks, people, car rides and playing. What a sweetheart!!! Biscuit loves when we open the toy box at the kennel and out come the toys – such a fun boy!!! Biscuit knows several commands and is eager to please. He has a slight stubborn streak, but is easily persuaded to join in the next adventure/activity. He LOVES people and is very affectionate. Biscuit will need a home with a fenced yard and is not suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome. We don’t know what he is mixed with, but there is definitely some greyhound in there and quite likely Great Dane. Biscuit came to use from South Korea. Biscuit did well with other dogs large and small in South Korea (we have the videos to prove it), but our experience has been he might prefer to be an only dog. Someone is missing out on a fantastic companion. This boy will just melt your heart!!

Date of Birth: February 12, 2016
Color: Brindle
Cat Trainable: No

Comments: Mike is a friendly, affectionate big boy. He is an active, playful guy. He will need a more active home, but he is also ready to settle and snuggle as well. He is still young, so will need a little gentle guidance in the ways of the world to help build his confidence. He is not shy, just a little tentative about anything new. Meet Shadow: September Dog of the Month – Adopted!

August 31, 2018

Shadow

Tag No: 6070
Registered Name: Sunrise Shadow
Breed: Greyhound
Date of Birth: April 13, 2013
Color: Black
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, No small dogs
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)
Comments: Shadow came to us from Ireland. Shadow is happy, friendly and playful. She will need a home without cats or small dogs. Shadow will likely need a canine companion. August 2, 2017: Shadow was diagnosed with has IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) with an unknown cause. Sept 2017: Shadow is responding well to treatment, is gaining weight and back to enjoying life. She continues on with her treatment and we are slowly reducing her meds. March 2018: Shadow continues to do well in her follow up medical testing and we are slowly reducing her medications. It is so wonderful to see her doing so well and getting back to life as it should be. She remains on one medication at this point, but we are hopeful that she will soon be off all medications and that she can resume life and pursuit of a forever home. May 2018: Shadow is now off all medications. Her last blood test was excellent! We need to do one more blood test to check that she is remaining healthy. Her coat has grown back in and she is playful, happy and delightful!! Once she has had her next blood test she will be available for adoption. July 2018:Shadow is back to normal, but she will need to have periodic blood work done to make sure that everything continues to stay stabilized. August 2018: Shadow is doing well. She loves her walks with our volunteers, hanging in one of the turnout yards with our volunteers or snuggling up for some affection. Shadow is delightful. She will make a wonderful companion. She has waited so long – won’t you give this sweetheart her forever home?

Meet Johnny: August’s Dog of the Month

August 1, 2018

Johnny

Tag No: 6171
Registered Name: None
Breed: Lurcher (Greyhound/Retriever mix)
Date of Birth: Approx 2014
Color: Black
Cat Trainable: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, Ok with small dogs
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Woodinville, WA (Kennel)

Comments: Johnny is an upbeat, friendly guy. He likes to play. He loves attention and is a happy soul - very affectionate. Johnny has a heart murmur, but it should not be an issue as long as it is monitored periodically and he doesn't over exert himself. Johnny is a greyhound mix and came to us from the Mid-West. Johnny loves his walks with our volunteers. He is a happy, energetic boy, but he also loves a little snuggle. He rides well in the car. He loves to smile! He will need a home without cats. He did well in small dog testing, but has not lived with one.  We have noticed some irregularities with his sight, so we are getting the eye specialist to take a look at him. MEDICAL HOLD
