On August 30, 26 wonderful hounds were welcomed into loving arms at the Hern Greyt Works.
The trip started when 15 NGA (National Greyhound Association) retired racers left Florida and 7 Lurchers from the American Lurcher Project left Ohio. These dogs met up in St. Louis, Missouri to make their way to Abilene, Kansas to pick up another 4 NGA greyhounds. Then, this pack of 26 traveled on to the Hern Greyt Works, where they leaped into their future and the loving arms of GPI's many dedicated arrival day volunteers.
Next, the new dogs will receive veterinary checks, baths, have their portraits taken, be assigned turnout buddies, and settle into their runs and be ready for their forever homes.
Many thanks to our careful drivers for safe delivery of our new dogs, our volunteers who helped with arrival, baths, and turnout, and to our photographer Ross Nooney for the photos and video.
