Sarabi

Sarabi (white & black), new Mom Gabbie & Dad Kai, with Zuko (black) fka, Bishop.
These recent adopters previously got two greyhounds from us around five years ago, Annie and Zuko. Sadly, Annie passed away recently and it was time to find a new friend for Zuko. As often happens, Zuko got along fine with all of the other hounds we introduced him to, and he left the difficult decision up to mom & dad. They also had a tough time deciding and even considered adding two more pups to their pack. But at the end of the day that was just a little too much to handle so they went with a happy, bouncy 3 1/2 year old girl from Australia named Sarabi! – Mike Forrest
Drive and Jet

Drive (brindle) & Jet (blue) with new Mom & Dad, Stephanie & Chris.
These adopters brought home a pair of greyhounds from us back in 2018, but sadly they both passed within the last year. They decided that now was the right time to find another duo. They got to meet quite a few of our dogs by going on one of our Brightwater walks and sticking around for turnout afterwards. And after that we tried pairing up a bunch of the dogs they had met. But it turned out that there were two that were already turnout buddies that seemed like a great match together, so off went our two big 2 1/2 year old boys Drive and Jet! – Mike Forrest
Prismo

Prismo with new Mom, Katie & Dad, Christian.
These adopters have had their hearts set on adopting a greyhound for several years and now was finally the right time to bring home a new pup. They didn’t have experience with the breed so they spent some time getting some training and volunteering for kennel turnout at GPI. They got to know some of our dogs that way, and were soon won over by a happy, affectionate 5 1/2 year old brindle boy from Australia. And today they picked him up and brought him home – congratulations to Prismo and his new mom & dad! – Mike Forrest
Hero

Hero with new Dad, Mark & new Mom, Michelle.
One of the best ways to meet our adoptable hounds is to volunteer at the kennel. Today’s adoption happened as a result of that, where one of our volunteers regularly took one of our UK pups on the Brightwater walks. He was on his best behavior during those walks for his future mom, and he let her know that he was ready for his forever home. So, they made it official – congratulations to 4 1/2 year old Hero and his new family! – Mike Forrest
Africa

Africa with new Mom, Vicki & Dad, Jeff.
These adopters have had greyhounds going back many years, but found themselves dogless after their two girls passed earlier this year. They decided that this time they would look for a smaller dog but wanted to stick with sighthounds. Fortunately, we have a few of those so they made the trip up from Oregon. The girl that we introduced them to has been with us for a year and a half, and came in as a very nervous, fearful girl. Our volunteers and trainers have been working with her every day since then to get her to be comfortable around people, and she has really blossomed. She was definitely ready for her forever home now and quickly warmed up to her new mom & dad. So, congratulations to our girl Africa from Bahrain, now known as Addie, and her new family! – Mike Forrest
