Dearly missed by Chris and Ross Nooney plus all GPI volunteers

It is with much sadness we need to report that Billy passed away this morning unexpectedly. It was determined that he had a very large tumor that caused his passing. Run free sweet Billy – you will be missed by many.

(Billy’s bio from GPI’s website)

Billy is a 5-year-old male fawn greyhound who will be a wonderful pet for the right person or family. Billy is friendly, upbeat, and very social-he even greets his best human friends with a goofy, toothy grin! People who know him best say that in addition to a lovely personality, Billy’s best traits are his intelligence and desire to please his person. He has been well trained, and currently knows “sit”, “lay down”, and even how to bow his head! Billy loves puzzle games and his training sessions and would delight in learning more fun stuff from his new person.

Originally from South Korea, Billy has lived in a home before but was returned. Billy could be an
only pet, or possibly live with other larger, calm dogs. Billy cannot live with cats, small dogs, or other little animals.

Billy is not suited for life in a densely populated situation such as an apartment/condo/townhome, or in a busy urban area. Billy had a very scary encounter in an urban environment with two big aggressive dogs who seemed to come out of nowhere. He still feels he needs to be on guard when it comes to unknown dogs, and his new owner will need to help Billy regain his confidence by avoiding chance encounters with dogs he doesn’t know. That said, Billy continues to love walks and has lovely leash manners. The right home would have a fenced yard located in a suburban or rural area where Billy and you can walk in relatively quiet places without close dog encounters of the scary kind!

Billy is loving, sweet, and will lean affectionately on his friends but he is not a “hugger.” Because he has a sensitive neck Billy would be best in an adult-only home.
