Kiki
Kiki (L) with new parents, Karin & Jason & Ciara fka Cooler.
These adopters are no strangers to GPI having adopted several dogs from us over the years. They came in with Ciara (fka Cooler), their four-year-old girl from Ireland. Ciara needed a new playmate, but one that wouldn’t overwhelm or intimidate her. They saw that we have several shy/nervous dogs up for adoption right now and felt that one of those might be a good fit for them and Ciara. So, we introduced a few to see how they would get along. The one that won them all over very quickly was a very shy but very cute young lurcher girl who recently arrived from California – Kiki! – Mike Forrest
Daffodil
Daffodil with new Mom & Dad, Pat and The Mister.
These recent adopters have been near & dear to GPI for over two decades, and this is their 12th adoption from us! They have been coming to the kennel for turnout as well as spending extra time working with some of our shy dogs while looking out for their next hound. Well, they found her, or she found them, so congratulations to our red four-year-old Daffodil and her new family! – Mike Forrest
Zane
Zane (R) with Grandmom Ruth, Mom Jennifer, Dad Brian and sister Dana.
This adoption was to a family that brought home two of our greyhounds several years ago. Sadly, one of them passed recently, and their girl Dana who originally came to us from Jerusalem needed a new buddy to play with. Dana is on the shy side but active and playful so they wanted to find a hound that could keep up with her. They saw the bio of one particular dog on our website and thought he’d be a good match, and they were absolutely right! Congratulations to them and their new brindle boy Zane who just turned two this week! – Mike Forrest
Sally
Sally with new Dad, Eric.
This adopter came to us looking for his first greyhound. He grew up with dogs but is pretty new to sighthounds, so we introduced a few of our kennel “personalities” to see who he’d get along with. They all did a great job of introducing themselves, but there was one girl who really put on a show by stretching out next to him on the couch as we were talking. I was definitely not surprised when he made the decision to bring our Irish couch potato Sally home with him! – Mike Forrest
