No description is provided for greyhounds who have just recently arrived at our kennel. In all other cases, where a description is given regarding behavior, and the results of cat, small dog and kid testing, the information provided is merely for guidance. Each dog may adapt differently in a different home environment, with other animals or children whose behavior is different. Please work closely with our adoption representative to help you pick the right dog for your home.

Cat Friendly Dogs - There are many people with cats looking to adopt greyhounds. If you do not have cats, we ask that you only consider adopting a dog that is not cat friendly. These dogs need homes just as much as the cat friendly dogs and we ask your help in reserving the cat friendly dogs for those homes that truly need them.

Apartments, Condominiums, TownHomes - GPI reserves the right not to place a greyhound under 3 years of age in a condominium, townhome or apartment, due to their expected energy levels and activity needs.

GPI also reserves the right not to place greyhounds deemed as high energy in a condominium, townhome or apartment.

EXCEPTIONS to these policies may be considered for a particular dog, but they must be pre-approved by the President (or his/her board of director’s designee) AND the applicable Regional VP.

We do not recommend picking a dog from its cute picture or color. Please choose dogs within your locality or within your driving distance. Being a volunteer based group, it is difficult for the organization to organize special transport of a dog from one end of our service area to another end. We make an exception for our Special Hounds.

	BB Tag No: 5156 Registered Name: Bangin Body Age: 3 Color: Black Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: See comments Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: BB and Jane are sisters. BB is a petite, beautiful black girl. BB is very shy and will need a calm, patient, experienced home. BB would do best in a home with another more confident dog to show her the ropes. BB is slowly learning that the big, bad world isn't so bad and has done well on outings with some of our volunteers. Once she knows you well she will slowly come up to you for some loving. She loves the kiddie pool. BB loves to run and play with her sisters or other dogs she is turned out with. BB is just too darling for words and is slowly gaining confidence. BB learns quickly. BB is still scared of men and children. She needs a home without kitties and we do not recommend BB for a home with children. Kennel Update: Our volunteers regularly take BB and Jane out into the world and they are doing fabulously. BB is doing better with men, but still timid with them. BB has met ducks, other dogs, and lots of people on her outings and is gaining confidence. She will readily come for affection now and doesn't like to be left out. Sponsored by Angie Kalmar

She can be a little timid/stubborn about walking on the smooth floors at times, but she is learning and doing much, much better on them. Breaker is just a doll. She has not been around young children, but with her timid/stubborn streak she perhaps would not do well with very young children. Breaker is so playful and loves the soft toys. She is a hoot to watch as she pulls all the toys out of the toy chest and chases them around the room! She has done well at booths and is definitely a people lover! Breaker needs a home without cats. What a sweetheart.
	Bree Tag No: 5274 Registered Name: Atascocita Bree Age: 4 Color: Black Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, not with small dogs Kid Friendly: Yes – 5+ years old Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: Bree is a pretty, petite, fun loving girl. Bree has plenty of energy and is very active, so she will need an active home. She is delightful and will just make you smile! The kennel she came from told us she is good with children (5+ years old). Bree needs a home without cats and small dogs.
	Isabell Tag No: 5309 Registered Name: Isabell Uhl Age: 3.5 Color: White/Brindle Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: Unknown Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: Isabell is a sweet, happy, friendly girl She is a bit more on the dominant side with the other girls at turnout, but does fine with some gentle reminders. Isabell did well in cat testing, but has never lived with a cat.

She is friendly, happy, and busy. Kay is on the higher energy side so she will need a more active home. Kay tested as trainable in our cat testing, but has not lived with a cat.

She does well with the other dogs at turnout. Mary tested as very trainable in our cat testing, but has never lived with a cat.

She is quite the character and a fun dog; she will make you laugh! Mudela can be noisy in the kennel at times, but she will most probably be fine in a home although she might not be the best choice for an apartment. Mudela will need a home without cats. What a great girl!!!
	Piper Tag No: 4863 Registered Name: Piper Calling Age: 12.5 Color: Brindle Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds Kid Friendly: Yes Location: Bothell, WA (Foster) Comments: Piper is an absolute love and very affectionate. She is very snuggly and loves affection and attention. Piper loves being with her people. She is an absolute sweetheart. Piper does well with the other greyhounds and 3 cats in her foster home. Piper is ok with small dogs, but can be growly with them at first. She does well with children, although she has not lived with children in recent years. Piper is a bit of a nervous car ride, but loves her walks. Piper would prefer a home with another dog.
	Sue Tag No: 5312 Registered Name: Mad Hot Sue Age: 1.5 Color: Red Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: Unknown Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: Sue is a young dog. She is playful, friendly and happy, but still needs some gentle guidance in the ways of the world. Sue did well in cat testing, but has never lived with a cat. We do not recommend Sue for an apartment/condo/townhouse.
	Tesla Tag No: 5314 Registered Name: Pat C Tesla Age: 8.5 Color: Brindle Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: Unknown Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: What an absolute doll this lady is!! Tesla is an absolute sweetheart, gentle and friendly. She will just melt your heart. Tesla was a brood mom and is now ready to retire to her forever home. Tesla would prefer a home without cats. Tesla does have corns on her front feet and will need to wear booties when walking on hard surfaces.
	Vicky Tag No: 5253 Registered Name: Red Hot Victory Age: 5 Color: Red Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: Unknown Location: Seattle, WA (Foster) Comments: Vicky is very affectionate. She is a happy, friendly girl. She can be submissive with some people, especially men. Vicky did well in her cat testing, but has never lived with a cat. Foster Home Update: Vicky is a VERY sweet dog! She's very eager to please and loves being petted and praised. She is in a foster home with another greyhound and gets along really well with him. Vicky is sometimes very good on a leash and sometimes needs reminding of her leash manners. She does very well in the car and just lies down until the ride is over. She's still working on learning how to climb stairs, right now she tends to just jump them. She hasn't been around young kids as yet or small dogs. She perhaps would not be the best choice for very young children. Vicky is very submissive around men. She will need an active home to keep her occupied.
	Victoria Tag No: 5310 Registered Name: Distant Drama Age: 2 Color: Brindle Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: Unknown, but no young children Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: Victoria is a darling, sweet, petite little girl. She is very playful and loves to play with the other dogs. She can be a little on the shy side and would do best in a calmer environment and most probably with another more confident dog to show her the ropes. Because of her shyness we do not recommend her with very young children. Victoria did well in cat testing, but has never lived with a cat. We do not recommend Victoria for an apartment/condo/townhouse situation.
