No description is provided for greyhounds who have just recently arrived at our kennel. In all other cases, where a description is given regarding behavior, and the results of cat, small dog and kid testing, the information provided is merely for guidance. Each dog may adapt differently in a different home environment, with other animals or children whose behavior is different. Please work closely with our adoption representative to help you pick the right dog for your home.

Cat Friendly Dogs - There are many people with cats looking to adopt greyhounds. If you do not have cats, we ask that you only consider adopting a dog that is not cat friendly. These dogs need homes just as much as the cat friendly dogs and we ask your help in reserving the cat friendly dogs for those homes that truly need them.

We do not recommend picking a dog from its cute picture or color. Please choose dogs within your locality or within your driving distance. Being a volunteer based group, it is difficult for the organization to organize special transport of a dog from one end of our service area to another end. We make an exception for our Special Hounds.

She LOVES to play and really loves to bounce her Kong around her run. Alpern is quite a character and will really make you smile. She is still very young, so she will need a more active home. Alpern is very skittish and needs an experienced dog home. She might do best in a home with a calm, laid back dog (non-dominant) but could possibly do all right as an only dog if the home has enough experience working with skittish dogs. Alpern passed her cat tests, but has never lived with a cat.

Blackie would prefer a home without kitties. Blackie just arrived so we are still learning about her.
	*Bridgette* Tag No: 5122 Registered Name: Bridgette Rose Age: 6 Color: Dark Brindle Cat Friendly: Very Trainable Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others Kid Friendly: Unknown Location: Woodinville, WA Comments: Bridgette is just a love and very friendly. She has the thickest coat and is missing half her tail, but it’s the bushiest tail we can ever remember seeing and it just adds to her endearing qualities. Bridgette is a very nice girl and does well with the other dogs at turnout. Bridgette and La Nita are sisters, but these are not two girls that should go into a the same home together – there’s not a lot of sisterly love between the two of them. Bridgette tested as very trainable during our recent cat testing, but she has never lived with a cat.

She loves the squeaky toys!!! And Burma loves to play with the ball at turnout time. She is very affectionate and interested in everything that goes on around her. Burma would prefer a home without kitties. She would most probably do best in a home with older children as she tends to want to discipline dogs that get out of line and we think she might do this with very young children as well. She does get along well with other dogs.

She loves the kiddie pool! Dawn would do best in a home without kitties. Dawn appears to have an old hock fracture, but it has healed well and she should be fine for normal “pet” activities. Dawn just arrived, so we are still learning about her.

Eclipse is a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you she is very affectionate. Eclipse did well in cat testing but has never lived with a cat. Eclipse just arrived so we are still learning about her.

She is delightful, but still has some of that puppy energy.

She is friendly, happy and outgoing. Fern loves to put her head and body between your legs and is a great leaner and snuggler. Fern would prefer a home without kitties.

She’s happy, easy-going and friendly. She does want to discipline the younger dogs that get out of hand, but is otherwise a wonderful lady. Houdini likes to chase a ball and will even bring it back to you and drop it at your feet. Houdini has never lived with a cat but tested as trainable in our cat testing.

She’s a little shy but once she knows you she warms right up. Kim did well in cat testing, but has never lived with a cat. Kim just arrived so we are still learning about her.

What a sweet, spunky, self-confident girl Kitty is! Oh my gosh, does she love squeaking the toys! So funny, last night she was so tired as we were watching TV, she put a stuffie in her mouth and slowly laid down on her side, squeaking it and falling asleep with it in her mouth; too funny! What a doll she is...gives us plenty of kisses! Some lucky family will have a very adorable and smart grey girl! (We are trying hard not to fall too much in love with her ourselves! Well, what can I say?) Our sweet Kitty spent last night in our room without an ex-pen, stayed in her bed and didn't stir until the other dogs got up! She has not had even one accident in the house since we brought her home! She is learning the dog door, also. Kitty's foster mom would like you to know that Kitty "heels" perfectly on a leash ~ just one more wonderful thing about her. Kitty would prefer a home without kitties and small dogs.

She’s easy-going and just a love. Misty went into a foster home recently. She is beginning to come out of her shell. She's good with the other dogs in her foster home, giving up her dog bed to the others. Misty rolls over on her back to have her tummy rubbed and sleeps on the floor next to her foster mom's bed at night. She uses the dog door with ease and jumps eagerly into a car when asked. We feel that she would be fine with a canine companion, preferably another greyhound. She loves to play with floppy squeaky toys. Naia walks well on-leash and is just an all round wonderful companion.

Pretty Girl was retired due to a broken bone in her foot. You’d never know now that it had been broken. Very nice girl. Pretty Girl and Brindy are sisters. Pretty Girl would prefer a home without cats.

Pumpkin is a young dog, but fairly calm for such a young dog. She can be a little bit anxious about new things, but that will change as she meets new people and does new things. She is just darling! Pumpkin did well in cat testing, but has never lived with a cat. She appears to have an old hock fracture, but it has healed well and should be fine with normal “pet” activities. Pumpkin just arrived, so we are still learning about her.

Royal is playful and smart and eager to please. She took Doggie Door 101 in night school, all I did was show her where it was and out she goes. She hops readily in the car for rides and likes sticking her head out the window (short, slow trips only) and gets along well with her Greyhound roomies. Royal is an extremely affectionate love sponge and when she saw Mikey get a belly rub for cockroaching, she caught on right away. She's learning to sit and is very cookie oriented. Royal has a lot of love to share with a forever family.

She is just darling, shy and precious – just like her name. All our volunteers just love her. She’s on the shy side and tends to prefer women to men. Shy is easy-going and just wants to please you. She would most probably do best in a home with another gentle dog and just folks who want to love on her. Shy is a very healthy lady and you would never know this darling’s age by looking at her or being with her. Won’t you give this precious little girl her forever home.

Kid Friendly: Yes Location: Monroe, WA (Foster) Comments: Signa is darling. She is very loving and loves to be with her person. She's good with other dogs. Signa is quite playful and she loves to run so it would be nice if she had a yard. She needs a calm household preferably with another gentle, quieter dog. Signa tested as cat friendly but she has never lived with a cat.

She is a happy, bouncy girl and actually needs to lose a couple of pounds – seems she found the bon-bons already:) Stoli is absolutely delightful and will just make you smile. Stoli's foster mom says, "She is amazing, probably the most lovable dog I have ever met, she gives tons of kisses and she is so sweet. I'm having fun with her!" Stoli's foster home reports that there have been no behavior problems other than a mischievous stealing of a slipper now and then. "We have noticed about her is her very lovable nature. She has met very many people and other dogs in the past few weeks and she is gentle, calm, sweet and comfortable around each and every one of them. She's great in a car, a crate, and even the bath. She has learned all about home life very quickly and quite frankly she is a combination of all of the great things I love about the other three dogs in our home, but she doesn't seem to have the bad traits of theirs. All in all, Stoli is an amazing dog and would probably do fine in a variety of types of homes." Stoli would prefer a home without kitties.

She’s on the shy side. She loves kids, cats and other dogs. She has lived with cats and children (10 & 12 years old). Willow is a little afraid of loud noises, wood floors and stairs, so she’ll take a little patience to learn how to handle these things. She loves to be covered by a blanket at night. Willow has been in several homes and returned through no fault of her own in each of those situations. We truly need to find this lovely lady her forever home. Willow is our August Dog of the Month.
