He has a non stop tail. Such a happy boy. He is playful but somewhat independent. On a sunny day he loves to find a shady spot in which to lay down. Brutus is about as far from his name as he could possibly be. This guy walked into our home and has fit right in from the beginning. He's quiet, calm, gentle and, oh so easy. He's not had a single accident. He knows "out of the kitchen", "out", "go potty", and is learning "no", but that's been a hard one. He walks well on the leash, but still needs a little refinement. And, he's very curious about everything, but once he's investigated, he's pretty happy with that. Now, for the fun stuff. He loves to run and play in the yard and will lay in the sun for hours, if we let him. Keepaway is becoming his favorite pastime. He's greyt with our Westie, as well as our two other Greyhounds. My guess is that he will be easy to train no matter what the environment. What a guy! He is so full of joy, and he'll bring that right into your home.

These two would love to continue to be together, if possible. If they are not adopted together, Bud will need another dog,  preferably another greyhound. He would not do well as an ony dog. He can be a little shy at first, but once he is comfortable he comes around and is quite the character. Cliff has done very well in his foster home - no messes and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He knows how to use the dog door. Walks are new to Cliff, but he is slowly figuring out that these are a good thing and we're working on his leash manners. Cliff loves a soft spot and loves to cuddle. When he gets excited he clacks his teeth together - it's quite funny. He's slowly figuring out toys, especially the soft ones. Cliff needs a home without kitties and most probably without small dogs. He would do best in a home with a canine buddy to show him how things are done. What a sweetheart this boy is. Cliff is our October Dog of the Month.
	Dom Tag No: 4529 Registered Name: DC's Domino Age: 6 Color: Black Cat friendly: No Dog friendly: Ok with larger Kid friendly: Not recommended Location: Carnation, WA  (Foster) Comments: Dom is a friendly, playful boy who loves to please you and learns quickly. He absolutely loves to play with a soccer or Jolly ball. He's a real nuzzler and loves to be loved and give love back. Dom just wants to be adored by his people. Dom knows how to use the dog door and would most probably do best in a home with a fenced yard rather than an apartment/condo. He's a good rider in the car and loves his daily walks (he's good on a leash). Dom will need a home with a canine buddy and one without kitties or small dogs. He does well with other large dogs. When you pet him, he gazes into your eyes and just soaks it all up. He would probably do best in a home that is not very active. Everyone who meets Ford falls in love with him, he is such a sweet boy.

He is an alert and energetic fellow who likes other dogs. Jazz has done very well in his foster home. He is fully house trained and gets along very well with their greys. He LOVES to lay outside in the sun and likes to hang where you are. Jazz displays very good manners and enjoys car rides and his walks. Jazz would be happy as a single dog or as a partner to another. Jazz would do best in a home without small critters. He is an all around delightful fellow who deserves a forever home he can call his own.
	Manny Tag No: 4595 Registered Name: Iruska Superman Age: 4 Color: Black Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Ok with large and small Kid Friendly: Yes Location: Port Townsend, WA  (Foster) Comments: Manny is a handsome and loving fellow. He gets along with everyone - people of all ages, dogs of all sizes, cats, and really likes horses. He's a smart boy and knows sit, sit-stay, shake/give a paw, wait, and out. He loves daily walks and staying in touch with his neighborhood via scent mail. He could be a jogging partner as he was in his previous family. Manny has a delightfully expressive face and is good at making his needs known. Should one feel a bit daft and not immediately understand his barking request to go outside or have attention, he is happy to be more specific with his impressive greyhound vocabulary! Manny gets more handsome with age. His long sleek face appears dignified with sprinkles of white. His soft silky fur is elegantly tailored to his trim physique and accented by his cute bare thighs and white toes. Though his racing name is Iruska Superman, he actually has a white Batman emblem on his chest, still the superhero. Manny can take a little while to warm up to new people. Yet he is sensitive of his humans and his loyal companionship is worth waiting for. He can feel anxious so would appreciate a clear gentle human leader who speaks in soft tones (firm is fine but not loud). Like lots of dogs (and humans), Manny likes routine and predictability. He would benefit from living with a dominate dog (preferably a greyhound?) so he doesn't feel the need to lead the pack. He might also like someone a bit below him in the hierarchy. A dog door could be a real plus. Manny is still a little shell-shocked from too many changes in his life. He is patiently waiting for his new family so he can shower them with love and feel secure again. It's possible that he might feel comfortable as an only dog with someone who is home most of the day.

Papa Duke is very loving and loves to play with the stuffies. He loves people and is happy about life. Papa Duke loves his walks and rides really well in the car. He's very well behaved in the house and knows how to use a dog door. Papa Duke does have an issue with pain in his lower back, but it is very erratic and very rarely a problem. He receives a shot every few months that seems to control the pain. He would do best in a home with another dog and one without kitties. Too shy with younger Location: Edmonds, WA  (Foster) Comments: For the most part, Redman is a sweet, fun boy with a sense of humor and a zest for life.  He's quite the kisser when he feels comfortable with people in his environment.  Sometimes, he's confident and other times he's quite shy and timid. Redman has an internal macho meter when it comes to men. If he senses that you're coming on a bit too strong or if he senses you don't fit in his comfort zone, he backs away. Other men are just fine as far as he's concerned. He's OK with the men in his foster family but he does not want to be crowded in or hovered over by them or anyone, for that matter. Redman has food allergies which are easily solved with duck & potato food. Redman might do best with women or a family with a gentle soul in the male of the house with no small children or kitties. He has responded so well to his foster home, you would think he has lived there for years! He has no separation axiety, does not bark and loves to run and play in the backyard. He DOES wants his walk each day, if possible, and does extremely well on leash and responds well to the neighbors and other dogs out on their walk. Scrapper enjoys being able to ride along with you in the car. There are only positives about Scrapper as a champion and no negatives. Scrapper would be a welcome addition to any family.  Scrapper is our September 2008 Dog of the Month.

He has a wonderful outgoing personality and loves to play or just be with you.  Slim was very nice and laid back in the car but he was quite excited and curious in the house during his kitty test. I’ve never seen one want to sniff so much! He was pretty intense with everything he checked out including the kitty. He didn’t appear to have a prey instinct but would notice the kitty and want to sniff him every time he saw him. He responded pretty well to “no kitties” so we would say trainable but would like to say with an experienced owner or maybe an assertive cat. Slim will sit for treats and meals. Excellent walker on leash. Great boy!  Slim has been on medical hold the last couple of months due to epileptic seizures.  He has not had a seizure since starting potassium bromide, a relatively inexpensive prescription medication.  Slim needs a canine companion and someone around most of the time. We were told that he had a urine dribbling problem and was on Proin for it. He has been off of the Proin for several months and has had no problems.
