Comments:

Tony is a big, handsome boy and he has the best ears. He is very big for a male greyhound - 90 pounds (and not overweight at all) – and a tall boy.

Tony absolutely LOVES to play ball. He will chase a ball until he is exhausted, so you have to be careful to curtail his ball playing when you see he is getting tired. He also loves to play with the toys periodically.

He also absolutely LOVES car rides. He loves to hang out in the car with his foster mom any time it’s feasible. He’s a great car rider and jumps right in. At first he does tend to stand, but then quickly settles and lies down.

Tony would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can play ball. It is a great way to tire him out. He is not recommended for an apartment, condo or townhouse.

He is great around the house. He knows how to use a dog door, and never messes in the house. He knows his manners and doesn’t try and intrude on food time or when you are cooking. He is happy to hang out wherever you are, but doesn’t have to be on top of you.

Tony likes affection, but is not a clingy dog or one that pushes in for attention all the time.

Tony is a dog that spins up quickly, meaning he gets excited very quickly. He just then needs to be reminded to “calm” and then he is usually fine. He respects authority and appreciates a good leader. He has done well with most of his foster home’s other dogs (greyhounds and non-greyhounds), although he might do best in a smaller pack (1 or 2 other dogs).

He is good on a leash most of the time and will walk right next to you, but if he sees something that really interests him he has to be reminded of his manners and can be very strong when that interest is piqued.

He will need a home with another dog, preferably a greyhound. He needs a home without cats or small dogs. We also would not recommend him for a home with young children due to his size and strength and he also doesn’t seem to have the patience for those little noisy things.

He is a bit of a talker when he gets excited or wants something. He and his foster mom have quite the conversations when it is dinner, walk or car ride time – just a hoot and will make you smile.

Tony knows several commands and is eager to please.

Just a greyt boy!
